Alenka in Grapefruit
Babywearing addicts (Zuzana Heverova)
Composition: 100% pima cotton
When I learnt I was picked by Polotno to test this beauty I was super excited. I have never owned Polotno before but I loved the designs and have been checking their fb page and website regularly. The brand is quite unknown in Slovakia. However around the time I found out I would be testing Alenka, a friend of mine was also lucky enough to buy one of their beauties. So we were both impatiently waiting for the wraps.
She got hers first (even though it was not Alenka) and was super thrilled. This made me even more eager to try the tester. When it finally came, I was astonished! I had some expectations due to the fact I already had seen some action pics on the their fb fan page (Polotno Chatter Group for those not familiar with it) but the pictures just dont do it enough justice.
Presentation: The wrap came in beautiful green bag with a little polotno emblem on the top and a hint of actual wrap. And inside the bag, there was also a little surprise – a little greeting card ( loved the idea )
Wrapping qualities: The wrap came to me fully broken in so it was a pleasure to wrap with. It was´t too smooth but not too grippy either. I could use sling rings without any slipping. My little girl has about 13 kgs and the carry held in its place, I didn´t need to adjust it what I really liked ( I used FWCC, DH, JBC). The wrap is also generously wide so you will love it if you have a toddler.
I would estimate density of the wrap somewhere around 280g/m2 but to be honest I did not weight it. I have to admit I used only multilayer carries since the tester was a size 7 (my regular size for FWCC is 5), so I didn´t do a ruck test. However, even though it is 100% cotton, it is superbly supportive while not too thick in hand. I wouldn´t say my little one was weightless in it but I carried her comfortably.
Conclusion? I love the wrap, the design and the wrapping qualities. I wouldn´t recommend it for the inexperienced wrappers but it is not a thick blanket so if you are an intermediate level, go for it. It is perfect for heavier toddlers and no matter what size you take, you can´t go wrong. I loved this Polotno wrap and I hope I will get another chance to test one of their wraps!
